My Fabulous Disease: Honoring HIV Survivors and the Writing of Mark S. King

  • Out Front Theatre Company 999 Brady Ave Atlanta, GA, 30306 United States (map)

Join us at Out Front Theatre for "My Fabulous Disease: Honoring HIV Survivors and the Writing of Mark S. King." This special night will honor HIV/AIDS survivors through the writing of local author Mark S. King, who has chronicled his life with HIV for the remarkable span of forty years.

The evening will begin with a reception at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. Atlanta Pride, Out on Film, The Counter Narrative Project, and GLAAD are co-sponsors of the free event.

The program includes Darian Aaron of GLAAD, trans activist Tracee McDaniel of the Juxtaposed Center, comedian and content creator Devin Bernard, theater critic and performer Benji Carr, and spoken word artist Larry L. Scott-Walker. Mark and his fellow performers will read essays from King’s new collection, My Fabulous Disease: Chronicles of a Gay Survivor, and offer their perspectives.

The event is free to the public, but tickets are required.
