Local Filmmaker Showcase: Queer Representation as Resistance

  • Red's Beer Garden 1328 Boulevard Southeast Atlanta, GA, 30315 United States (map)

Join us for an unforgettable evening of local LGBTQ+ short films, community, and conversation as we spotlight Queer Representation as Resistance. This special Pride Month event honors the power of storytelling in pushing back against erasure, challenging systems, and affirming identity.

We’ll begin the evening with an inspiring panel featuring alumni filmmakers from past Out On Film festivals, discussing how their art intersects with activism and what queer resistance means in today’s cultural landscape. Then, enjoy a curated lineup of bold, beautiful short films that reflect the diversity, creativity, and strength of Georgia’s LGBTQ+ filmmaking community.

Showcased films include:
TBD

Each film in the program is made by and for the LGBTQ+ community, showcasing the powerful voices shaping queer cinema right here at home. This event is free and open to all, with a pay-what-you-can option—proceeds will benefit the Out On Film Fundraiser, which helps us continue empowering LGBTQ filmmakers through travel stipends, filmmaker awards, and completion grants.

We’re proud to once again partner with Red’s Beer Garden, a longtime champion of the LGBTQ community and Out On Film.

Whether you come solo or bring your chosen family, you’re invited to celebrate the radical joy of queer storytelling with us. Let’s gather in resistance, resilience, and pride.

Cinema. Community. Queerness. See you there.
